Following the success of WCI's networks: pvnet, pvconnect, chnet, pvtech, and dvnet, WCI have launched manet; to meet industry demand for a Medical Affairs forum. The forum will provide a platform to generate Medical Affairs best practice and guidance. Our objective is to help members to conform to both current and future regulations whilst proactively supporting the commercial needs of the business.
The inaugural meeting took place in parallel with the pvconnect Mid Year Forum in June at the Radisson Blu Portman Hotel in London.
This meeting reviewed and defined hot topics for focus whilst also shaping the future mode of the operation for the forum. Key agenda items included:
Current and future regulatory trends
Government induced therapeutic substitution
Requirement for increased transparency
EU level co-ordination of pricing, reimbursement, and Health Technology Assessment
Fragmentation of pricing and reimbursement arrangements in key EU markets
Implementing Medical Affairs Governance
Hot topic discussion breakouts: topics included:
Medical Information: How do you ensure global consistency?
How can Medical Information reduce the risk of counterfeiting?
Management of off-label enquiries
Dr. Matthias Müller, Senior Vice President Medical Affairs at Grünenthal said: "The first manet forum demonstrated the value that can be gained from getting together and discussing the challenges that we all face on a daily basis. In an ever changing regulatory environment I am convinced that manet will enable operational improvements in our Medical Affairs activities."
The next forum will be taking place in London on Tuesday 22 November 2011. If you would like further information about this forum please visit: http://www.wcigroup.com/Pages/Events/WCI-manet-Forum-2011.aspx or contact us via email at manet@wcigroup.com
