WCI wins trust wide integration project to support the vision of better 'joined up' patient care
10 April 2006
WCI, renowned for excellence in integrating healthcare systems and processes, today announced that it has been successful in winning a new contract with Milton Keynes General NHS Trust. The project will integrate both new and existing systems across the Trust to meet go-live implementation schedules for the CRS (Care Records Service) project.
WCI will deliver a robust and maintainable solution that will eliminate errors, provide the trust with greater flexibility and a platform for process improvement.
WCI's approach is unique in its combination of robust and safe technology solutions with a strong focus on process improvement. This reduces administration and management overheads whilst improving the quality of services delivered to patients.
The award of the contract was based on WCI's 18 year specialist knowledge of healthcare systems, proven track record for timely and safe delivery of high quality solutions at realistic costs. WCI is contracted to provide a full integration service utilising the Trust's existing Microsoft BizTalk integration engine with interfaces to existing systems and new LSP (Local Service Provider) chosen applications. Jeff Jacklin, Head of ICT at Milton Keynes, said, "The Trust is in the process of moving to two new systems - Cerner Millennium PAS and a new Pathology application - both of which have aggressive go-live target dates for the CRS project. WCI demonstrated to us a proven ability to deliver a very specialised service in a massive project without compromising on deadlines."
This recent contract win further strengthens WCI's reputation for integration and simplification of diverse healthcare systems.
